In addition to the exclusive distribution of LUSAS software in Italy, we market software dedicated to bridges such as PontiEC4 and ABload developed by us and we also develop custom software to manage structural types of customer interest.
Software for bridges and complex structures
Alhambra is distributor in Italy of the English finite element system LUSAS since 2002 and the experience acquired in the design of bridges and in the customization of the software with the LUSAS BRIDGE version has led to the development of PontiEC4, prepostprocessor for the design of steel and steel-concrete decks according to Eurocodes and of ABload, software for the determination of loads equivalent to the loads of exceptional transits or of testing and for their comparison with the design loads.
Structural engineering services and technologies
Alhambra is able to provide structural engineering services in the field of infrastructure and construction for the analysis of entire structures and individual components.
Software development is not aimed only at products to be marketed, but can also be carried out ad hoc for companies that want to standardize and speed up their designs.
Alhambra also takes care of the promotion and development of some innovative anti-seismic technologies.
The possibility of obtaining the resulting stresses N, T, M in a series of sections of a beam-shell model, coupled with the availability of generating influencing surfaces for the same sections, allowed to model the bridge with transverse beams and torsion braces in their real position, fully considering the effects of the curved plan, and allowed to have the stress characteristics diagrams, the values of which have been directly used for the checks with PontiEC4. The analysis software allowed a fast and excellent optimization of the structural steel and of reinforcement steel.
The flexibility of the LUSAS software has allowed the rapid processing of numerical models of increasing complexity, adequate each time for the specific purposes of each analysis, allowing speed, accuracy and simplicity of interpretation, and managementl of the output results. The PontiEC4 software has allowed the optimization of the various segments of steel beams, providing a clear, complete and exhaustive picture of the utilization ratio in the various Limit States considered by the code of practice and in all the phases.

The collaboration with Alhambra colleagues has been very effective. The work was carried out in a short time and the needs of the project were very particular with quite unusual boundary constraints. The structural configuration was analyzed in its peculiarities quickly and then expertly examined within the tight processing times, with final delivery in line, if not beyond, expectations and respecting all the established standards with absolute rigor. Alhambra engineers have proved to be competent and reliable in the design of viaducts with different spans and features. The use of the LUSAS software allowed to model decks in detail complete of all the structural elements (beams, crossbeams, bracings) and in the various construction phases, including those of the launching. PontiEC4 software allowed to perform all the checks required by current code of practice on the structural elements, evaluating the utilization ratio in all sections for subsequent design optimization.
